Francis Figliola from Hartsdale, NY, perfectly captures the swalllowtail butterfly, busy at work.
"This butterfly was pristine, newly minted and willing to pose for my modest Cannon Power Shot SX 110! The lighting this morning was perfect."

How gorgeous. Thanks for sharing her beauty and your skill with the camera.
Lovely way to start the day!
Sublime. My heart's aflutter.
Awesome. Truly awesome!
Beautiful! Wish I could take such great photos.
Francis, they are magazine worthy!
Gorgeous pics!
Beautiful pictures, Francis...I am as enthralled by the flower as the butterfly. The center cone has so much texture and complexity. I can almost imagine the folks of Dr. Seuss's Whoville living within the shadows of those orange hued spines. And, for you Dr.Seuss purists, no worries...I know the plot of 'Horton Hears a Who' has the teeny tiny folks inhabiting a speck of dust... my imagination just got the best of me for moment.
Some of my favorite butterflies. Nice captures.
Lucky you! You captured the moment beautifully. So much magic in our world!
Wonderful photos, Francis. I love it when wildlife cooperates since it rarely does.
Butterflies are such a gift in the garden. Nice capture, Francis.
Beautiful photos, Francis! How lucky that the butterfly was willing to "sit" for her photo; they so often flutter by.
Those pictures are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Fabulous shots!!! We've had a fairly wet summer here in Western North Carolina and I've never seen so many swallowtails, both black and yellow! They are an absolute delight to watch. Wish my hands weren't so shaky, I'd take a chance on a photo or two. Thank you, Francis!
Your pictures made me smile on this rainy afternoon. Thanks!
Love it! I visited the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus Ohio yesterday and really enjoyed their butterfly garden. Thanks for sharing this wonderful nature gift!
What a nice surprise today! These are great pictures you captured Francis! We have seen quite a few around here but i have never really been able to capture them. They are so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I'm Francis. Thank you all for the most wonderful comments!
Stunning photos! I like the fact that you indicated the type of camera that you are using. The modest Cannon power shot sx100 sure takes great detailed photos. Thanks for sharing.
