We’ve visited the garden of Carla Zambelli Mudry in Malvern, Pennsylvania, many times. Most recently she shared the early blooms of spring with us (Celebrating Spring With Carla). Today, we’re back to see the garden in high spring glory.
Spring has been beautiful this year, albeit cooler. A few of my favorite plant sales have returned, so I have been planting what can take the current weather and staging other plants in the greenhouse. The azaleas are blooming, and peonies are starting to open.
A brilliant cherry-red tulip (Tulipa hybrid, Zones 3–8) is edged in white.

Lovely photographs of this time of year when everything feels fresh and new. Those Japanese maple leaves unfurl to vibrant color, even though many will relax into something less showy. I suspect the epicedium is not the cultivar 'Domino' but 'Pink Champagne'. Both have similar speckled elongated leaves early in the season, but "Domino' has clean white flower with a plum colored center. - no red or pink.
Beautiful. Don't ostrich ferns make everything a bit better? They are one of my favorite things about spring.
Ahh yes Ostrich Ferns I love them!
OMG that light pink tree peony! I wish I'd bought that color now! And I'm really love'n that Japanese Maple you have- so graceful in the edge of the woodland!
Ahhhhh spring! You've captured it beautifully! Thank you!
Beautiful as always Carla! Your combinations always make me smile.
That tree peony blossom made my heart sing!!
