You don’t need the latest and greatest plants to make a stunning plant combo. All of these plants are relatively easy to find in your local garden center: ‘Polaris’ verbena (Verbena rigida ‘Polaris’, Zones ), Artist Purple ageratum (Ageratum ‘Agmontis’, annual), purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea cv., Zones ), ‘Victoria’ salvia (Salvia farinacea ‘Victoria’, Zones 8-11), gayfeather (Liatris sp., Zones 3-9), and flowering tobacco (Nicotiana sylvestris, annual). This photo was taken at Longfellow Gardens in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Welcome to the Fine Gardening Garden Photo of the Day blog! Every weekday we post a new photo of a great garden, a spectacular plant, a stunning plant combination, or any number of other subjects. Think of it as your morning jolt of green.
