Today’s photos are from Deagmund Robinson, a gardener and photographer in Atlanta who has combined a love of flowers and photography skills to capture plants in beautiful and unusual ways.
This dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) ended up being one of the prettiest shots I’ve taken. I’m a believer that even a weed can be a beautiful flower.
This image is one of my first pictures, and this sunflower (Helianthus annuus, annual) was my first one I photographed and grew. It involved a lot of trail and error, but my babies finally grew.
After a fresh rain, these beautiful roses stood out. I was surprised I caught them on camera.
I caught this beautiful bee trying to sting me, but it ended up landing, which made for a beautiful shot. Can you imagine me running around the garden with a camera trying not to get stung but admiring this beauty? (Editor’s note: This little insect is a fly—which can’t sting—that looks like a bee. And on purpose! Many species of flies mimic the yellow stripes of bees in order to scare off potential predators. Looks like it worked!)
As the seasons began to change over and the roses started wilting, I caught this image. It is one of the last roses before I trimmed them down, still standing tall and beautiful.
Beautiful daisies (Leucanthemum × superbum, Zones 5–9) like this mesmerize me with their detail. I love flowers, and this is one of my favorites.
