Sherry Musci and her husband have created a colorful garden setting in NY state.
"My name is Sherry Musci and my husband and I live at the south end of Skaneateles Lake in New York. I consider myself a gardener, but weak in landscape design. I compensate for this with color and abundance. In July we had to leave our home and temporarily reside in Buffalo, NY, so I took pictures of my garden before we left to help me cope. I worried because this was an exceptionally dry summer and expected my garden to be a disaster. I was able to get home a few times and was pleasantly surprised so say the least how well my garden did on neglect. Sorry but I had to include a picture of my garden helper!"

Good Morning Sherry - your pictures are beautiful. Give yourself more accolades it looks like you have some great plant combos going on. Beautiful color. Your garden helper is sweet. We are neighbors. I live in Skaneateles as well. I would love to visit your garden sometime. If you are ever in the neighborhood of Collard Rd. stop by. I wiould love to meet a fellow gardener and show you around my garden. Have a great day and thanks for sharing.
Hello there Sherry - Yes a big tick for a wonderful colour palette, and don't be so tough on yourself concerning design - looks great! Helper also looks very content. Nice photography. Did you have the need to chop down a big tree at some stage? Cheers from Oz
Beautiful, vibrant colors. I prefer gardners to landscape designers ?
beautiful, i miss my old garden, i had to move and have very little space now, makes me sad. i love to be in the garden
You may consider yourself weak on design but I think you'll find some argument with that! Your color combos are wonderful and unpredictable, your variety of shapes and textures makes each shot beautiful. Even your gardener partner has chosen to coordinate himself with his surrounding landscape!
I can well understand why you missed your garden, Sherry, and found solace in visiting it via pictures. It's very soothing to see the faces of your special "friends" like those gorgeous bearded iris and warm coral poppies. Seems like your garden has multi season great color and your blue spruce provides some bones for throughout the winter. I envy you your kitty helper...he/she looks like great company.
Love the way you've mixed the colors and textures! Well done!
Hi Sherry, I love the riot of color in your garden. The bee balm with the stock is a knockout. The poppies and foxglove are drool worthy. I can't grow them in our hot and humid weather. Great pictures. Vikki in VA
Everything is beautiful but especially that garden helper.
Good morning Sherry. You didn't say why you had to stay in Buffalo, but I hope that is all resolved now! Your garden looks so beautiful. The color combos are enticing and the blue spruce is great. You certainly have an eye for photography, which by default makes you a designer! Thanks for sharing!
I think there's a party going on in your gardens, Sherry! All of the color combos are delightful and everything is so lush you must have a house filled with wonderful bouquets every spring and summer! There is no wonder you missed tending to your beauties last summer!
I love your colorful abundance. That's an especially great shot of the bleeding heart agains the wooden fence/gate. I like the icy blue iris combintation with the blue of the spruce, too. Glad both it and your survived your absence!
Your garden is lovely! and here's the thing: if you are happy being in it, then the design is perfect! I love that you are so bold with color - it's in groupings so it's not overwhelming. I think the whole thing is gorgeous - but especially your helper ;-)
Beautiful! The poppies, foxglove and phlox are to die for! I love Skaneateles. You garden in a treasure. That's quite a garden helper, too. Good help is hard to find.
I ogled, for quite some time, the beautiful lavender-blue trim of your iris with the snow-white center. It so beautifully complimented the blue spruce cushion beneath it, and the deep burgandy iris in the corner set it off to a tee. Then I ogled everything else. You've created some fascinating combinations that flow so well that it leaves one with a sense of well-being. With your 'riot' of colors, there is simply no discordance. It takes a good designer to accomplish that feat. Kudos!
You have some of my favorites, Sherry. Blue spruce goes with everything is what I say and how can you go wrong with iris and black-eyed susans? Your garden is gorgeous and I'm so happy that it was able to survive some neglect. I hope you are back home and enjoying it now. I see hat little garden helper is darling but loves to get in the way, like most helpers of that type.
Love the abundance of flowers and the riot of color - and certainly the most beautiful garden kitty helper! Great job.
Sherry ~ Really beautiful perennials, the colors are extraordinary and I especially like the wooden shed with the climbing hydrangea on it and bleeding hearts. The kitty in the bucket is too cute!
Thanks for sharing your lovely gardens.
Beautiful Colors! I like color! I see you cat is helpful, like my cat is.
Seriously gorgeous...
Sherry, first give your lovely garden kitty multiple behind the ears scratches and nuzzles under the chin for me. I am both a garden and cat lover. You have done a wonderful job of creating great color combinations. Love your kitty and your garden. Keep sharing.
