We get to see tons of beautiful plants on the GPOD, but almost nothing gets people quite as excited as beautiful displays of roses. So today we’re celebrating some of the most beautiful rose-centric posts we’ve had on the GPOD.
Clair’s garden in New Jersey has lots of beautiful features, but this rose arbor covered with the nearly thornless climbing rose ‘Zephirine Drouhin’ is just breaktaking. Imagine the scent of walking under that! See what else Clair is growing here: Gardening in Upper Saddle River, NJ.
This incredible mass of pink is a plant of the rose ‘Jeanne LaJoie’ that was 17 years old when Donna Jones sent it in to the GPOD. Two of these roses flank her deck and turn the space into a fairytale rose garden when in bloom! See more here: Fairytale Rose Garden.
‘Zephirine Drouhin’ is a favorite variety for a lot of GPOD contributors. This beautiful specimen is from Joseph Huot’s garden. See more of the flowers Joseph grows here: Garden Photos From a Connecticut Garden.
A French gardener inspired by British gardens shared this photo of a stunning, flower-covered ‘Sibelius’ rose.
And the same gardener included this photo of a planting in the front garden of the roses ‘‘Pink Grootendorst’, ‘Marjorie Fair’, and ‘Robin Hood’. The whole garden is just incredible: An English-Inspired Garden in France.
And of course we have to take a moment to enjoy the intricate beauty of roses up close. This masterpiece is the rose ‘Eden’ growing in Nancy Mellen’s garden. Check out her garden here: Gardening in Hingham, MA.
And this is the rose ‘Westerland’ shared with us by Martha Bosma. See more of the roses she grows here: Remarkable Roses.
