We’ve been to Sutton, Massachusetts, to visit Dale Coulter’s stunning garden before (Dale’s Greenhouse and Garden), and it is always a pleasure to visit it again!
This marvelous greenhouse, made primarily from reclaimed materials, is a highlight of the garden. It is both a functional and a beautiful piece of architectural art in the garden.
At night the greenhouse is even more amazing!
This is a garden full of FLOWERS. Annuals in containers fill the foreground, while a wild-looking meadow of blooming perennials extends beyond. There is color everywhere you look.
At night, strategic garden lighting accents the structures in the garden, transforming the whole look and feel of the space.
Clouds of daylilies (Hemerocallis hybrids, Zones 4–9) in bloom
The little sign says “Flowers,” and it is right! This has got to be one of the most flower-filled gardens I have ever seen.
An incredible stand of huge white lilies (Lilium sp., Zones 5–9) makes a commanding performance in the middle of this bed. I bet the scent is mind-blowing.
Clumps of yellow Rudbeckia fulgida (Zones 3–9) are all through this meadow planting, giving it unity and a huge number of flowers.
A little spot to sit and enjoy
