This sultry, monochromatic bed makes a big impact with its large sweeps of deep red plants. Amaranth and coleus supply the bulk of the drama, and are knitted together with a band of ornamental kale. A skirt of delicate gaura keeps this powerful combo from going just a bit too far.

Great color and texture combination. It would be helpful to know where the gardens featured in your daily photos are located. Incorporating some of the ideas would be great if they fall into a similar climate to ours.
Canase, this photo was taken at Longfellow Gardens in Minneapolis. It's a gem of a garden in the middle of town that I stumbled upon by accident a few years ago. The gardeners there do amazing things with annuals!
tremendous piece of design, but the 'print' is too dark. Can you lighten it and repost? Ever since My Love helped us see the monotony of borders of pastels(it was peonies at the time; many many pastels)20 years ago, we have included dark reds in all our plantings. They also complement all our variegated foliage here as well.
