The other day I lamented to my gardening buddies on Twitter that I already have dozens of dandelions blooming in my lawn. Dozens, I say. The response was split. Lots of people sympathized, but an equal number offered suggestions for how I could make use of the dandelions, be it salad, an opportunity to pay a neighborhood kid to deadhead, or my favorite, making dandelion wine.
I’ve always known you could make dandelion wine, but always thought it’d be complicated and require specialized equipment that wouldn’t fit into my budget. Well, Lisa Munniksma of Hobby Farms magazine in Kentucky pointed me to a recipe on their website that doesn’t seem complicated at all! I think I’ll go home now and pick some dandelions….

Let's not forget the ever-popular childhood activity of "Momma had a baby and her head popped off!" My daughter actually reminded me of that this morning.I am sure she will rid me of at least HALF of my dandelions and it will occupy at least an hour's worth of her time! Then, I can get to the REAL weeds.
