Today we’re revisiting Wendy Ory’s garden in the suburbs of Chicago, where I noticed two more beautiful garden structures created by Wendy’s husband, Mike. It sure pays to have a spouse who’s handy with a table saw (I know this from experience…). Wendy says, “The bridge is modeled after an ancient Chinese rainbow bridge and built of red cedar. Though it looks delicate, it is strong enough for adults to walk across it. The trellis is built of reclaimed redwood trim from a house remodeling project. The design uses triangles to give the look of an evergreen tree with a nest in it.” Great stuff, Wendy! Mike’s a keeper.
