There were too many great pets to choose from yesterday, so I’m continuing the theme today! Have fun meeting some of the cutest garden helpers around…
A couple of years ago, FG spoinsored a “Pets in the Garden” photo contest online. Check out the blog post where we announced the winners and runners-up. They’re CUTE!

The camera-shy cat looks like a lion in miniature. How regal!
I think it goes without saying that I love this theme!
I love these photos! There is no better companion in the garden than a pet. My neighbor's dog used to come over and hang out with me when I worked in my garden. He'd see me, lumber over, and plop down and just watch for hours. He was always good company and especially good at stick removal! I didn't realize how much I liked having him there until he passed away.
While I admire all owners of people shown, I must say that the person I admire most is Sydney Eddison, who is owned by a Jack Russell. No wonder Ms. E's garden grows so lavishly! A Jack Russell has her own mind, and she will teach the human beings with whom she chooses to associate the merit to be found in humility, in learning to adapt human aspirations and plans to the situation at hand. A good gardener must learn to be guided by land and plants, and that takes submission. Who better to teach that than a Jack Russell?
I have to ask - how does a Jack Russell climb a tree?!?! I'm not surprised at all - terriers are amazing dogs. And please tell me there's a video!
Just love Miss Eddison & Phoebe -- there's no better garden companion than a Jack Russell! Mine always helps when I'm pulling up vines...
