Today’s photos are from Cherry Ong, but they were taken in her mother’s (Rebecca Tang) garden in British Columbia. If you’ll recall, we featured Rebecca’s garden once before (refresh your memory HERE), but today’s photos show a completely difference perspective.
Cherry says, “I dug up some pictures of my mom’s garden in Spring/Summer 2011 and here are some of them that you and your viewers might enjoy. It is the exact opposite of her hosta side garden featured not too long ago. My mom has always loved flowers – all kinds of orchids when we were growing up and hybrid tea roses when we first moved to Canada over 20 years ago. Right now, she loves big, bright, and vibrant-flowering perennials. Since it rains 9 months of the year in these parts, she happily gives out cut flowers before the rains come. I am also sending a few pictures of floral arrangements I’ve made from her garden flowers over the years.
When I look through pictures of her garden from over the years, I see that it’s been quite the journey. I can see that among all the active contributors to your blog. I’m so glad that she’s passed on this love of gardening to me.” We are, too, Cherry! (Want to see Cherry’s garden? Click HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.)

What an absolutely gorgeous and yummy centerpiece the hydrangea surrounded candles make...Martha Stewart take note!
Rebecca has some beautiful plant combinations going on and the pictures show she is as masterful in her sunny spot gardening as she is with her shade areas from the previous sharing.
What fun it must be for you, Cherry,to have this love for plants and gardening in common with your mom.
A lovely display of formal flora... Cherry missed her calling, Cherry's Florist Shoppe.
The pictures showing the flowers displayed look like they could have come from a high end catalog - beautiful! Great pictures!!
How wonderful to have the love of digging in the dirt with your Mom. I would bet that you have had some of your more thoughtful conversations while gardening. Lucky both of you!
What a beautiful and breathtaking display!! The combinations of color and texture is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Sorry for the late post. My Mom sends her thanks to everyone! She's away and just found out - quite the pleasant surprise. She adds she misses her garden because it's a concrete jungle where she is currently visiting. I forgot to mention to her that it's been raining daily in these parts so friends and neighbors have been waiting for free cutflowers from her yard.
Please tell me, what are the white flowers in the arrangement with the daylily; also, do you have the name of the yellow lilies with the purple iris?
Thanks. the mountain gardener.
