Today’s photos are from Mary Spencer.
I thought you might enjoy a few pictures of my Westminster, Maryland, spring flowers.
Named for Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame, lewisia (Lewisia cotyledon, Zones 5–8) is native to the mountains of western North America and has gorgeous flowers in the spring.
Gardens are perfect places to sit and remember loved ones lost. Behind the bench, a Japanese maple (Acer palmatum, Zones 5–9) is just leafing out.
Spring is in view! The window boxes are overflowing with blooms, and daffodils (Narcissus hybrids, Zones 4–8) are showing off in the front beds.
New life is showing everywhere, as daffodils bloom and fern fronds begin to unfurl.
A bit of
garden art is tucked into the lush greenery of spring.

This is really cool and fascinating. Thank you for this towing and roadside assistance
Just a lovely well-tended beautiful garden.
Very nice ! It's a MUST to have a place to let the stresses and worries of life take a back seat to one's escape . It CAN be done in ANY place that one aspires . Just go for it --- bit by bit , it will come . Peace from the Mohawk Valley in central NY.
A beautiful garden, a relaxing place to reflect. I've never seen a lewisia (Lewisia cotyledon, Zones 5–8) before, looks great the way you have it planted in a window box trailing down.
Viewing this garden is a beautiful way to start the day. It is truly a labour of love and this is especially evident in the tribute garden to Mike Spencer. May Mike rest in peace. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us.
Great to see a Maryland garden & a beautiful one at that. How do you keep your Lewisia alive? Mine always croak in our wet summers.
Hi, Mary. I especially like your back garden. Thank you for sharing!
So lovely! The lewisia cotyledon is also new to me and I'm going to search for it - so very pretty.
Mike Spencer is surely proud of you, Mary for making such a beautiful garden. It is so lovely!
