      For some, dirt under the fingernails is a badge of honor. It says, “I’m a real gardener.” But try taking those dirty fingernails to a summer cocktail party full of non-gardeners, and that badge of honor is a little embarrassing. Some say that scraping your finger nails on a bar of soap before heading into the garden helps. Have you tried that? If so, let us know in the comments below.

      If worse comes to worse, you could always just invest in some good gardening gloves.
