Patrick and Suzanne Bulmer

Patrick and Suzanne Bulmer

Patrick and Suzanne Bulmer met in 1973, married soon after, and have been renovating homes and gardens ever since. Patrick’s study of horticulture and his landscaping experience have come in handy, as well as Suzanne’s keen eye for design and love of plants. Whenever Patrick and Suzanne renovate an old house, they strive to restore its period features, reading obsessively about the furnishings and garden designs that would have been popular at the time. Their second home was a Victorian Italianate house, so they planted a garden full of rhododendrons, hollyhocks, and dahlias. Their antique lighting business, Waterglass Studios, was born of necessity—they needed period lights for their renovations!
