I have a north facing spot that only gets 4-5 hrs of sun. Water source nearby in the form of an AC unit but whatever we put there will also have to handle the winter chill. Any suggestions?

What is the climate in your area? That can make quite a difference in winter survival. Do you experience frequent or hard freeze? If not, echeverias and aeoniums can do well as long as they get some good bright sun for part of the day. In colder areas, gold columbine could work well.
