I’m getting a little desperate for some gardening action as we slog through January, so I’m thinking I’ll propagate a forsythia in my yard that reliably colors up a perfect rich deep purple in the fall. The color might be a result of cultural conditions, but it’s neighboring forsythia don’t color as well, so I’m going to give it a try and hope it’s a true trait of that particular specimen. Maybe I can name my own two season interest forsythia cultivar. 😀Â
If you’re twiddling your green thumbs, consider rooting some dormant cuttings.
