Favorite Plants for Winter Interest

Winter is great time to appreciate characteristics of plants that we might not notice the rest of the year since they are obscured by leaves: exfoliating bark, architectural branching, seed pods etc. What plants do you love in the winter? Personally, I love the fuzzy buds on magnolias.
