The spotted lanternfly is native to India, China, and Vietnam, and is believed to have arrived in America in a cut stone shipment. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) has confirmed the detection of spotted lanternfly (SLF) in Davidson County, TN. Tennessee is the 16th state to detect SLF since it was first discovered in Pennsylvania. It is very likely this pest will spread to gardens throughout the Southeast.
How can gardeners help spread the word to scout for this pest and kill it when you see it? See below in comments for an article of SLF – this thing is bad news!
