Introduction from a beginner

jonindc | Posted in Mid-Atlantic Gardening on

Hello Friends, I want to introduce myself to fellow members. I have read and appreciated much of the content in Fine Gardening, but haven’t followed through with much of what I saw. I really want to change that. There are so many questions ….
I’m located in Gaithersburg MD, gardening zone 7b. I moved in to my 3 acre property about 20 years ago. It was nicely landscaped then (the front part with the house, with most of the remaining 2 acres completely wild), but I have let it go. Many of the plants that looked great when I moved in have grown too large and are causing problems. Other areas have changed with different problems now apparent.
I will probably ask a lot of questions, if this is an OK place to do that, and of course share my results, good and bad.

Hi there! We'd all be thrilled to review your issues with you. I myself garden in 6b, so you may have some situations I'm not familiar with, but any pictures and maybe a list of the plants you're dealing with would be a place to start. Welcome to the forums!

Hello! I am in Boise, ID, high and dry, and tho we have been moved into zone 7, I stick with 6 for anything requiring money and lots of effort, i.e, trees for the landscape. I echo Chloe's welcome and encourage you to ask all kinds of gardening questions. Cheers!
