I planted pink muhly grass this spring. While the plants themselves look good, I was really looking forward to a bright pink fall, but they are all still just green. I’ve tried to Google it but have gotten mixed answers. Will the colors not change until the second year? Thanks!

I started with very small plants. It has taken about 3 years before they grew large enough to have a nice show of the pink flowers.
Thank you!
In Southern WI, the only muhly grass that has been consistently perennial for me is Muhlenbergia reverchonii UNDAUNTED ('PUND01S'). This selection has thrived for over 6 years and has gotten better coloration over the years. The photo attached is in early October! While it's lost it's pink now in Dec., it is still a textural marvel (until heavy snows!). Not sure if that answers your question but I theorize that they do get better with age!
Thank you! I'll try to be patient!
