Planning for winter color

Dan_Southwest | Posted in Southwest Gardening on

Once the late summer temps start to drop it’s time to think about what will carry your garden through the winter season. The more temperate conditions are perfect for lots of annuals that appreciate the chilly nights. That may still seem like it’s a ways off but make your plans now and the transition will be a seamless process. Snapdragons and pansies are traditional favorites, enduring winter sun and chill easily. Iceland poppies will also thrive. These all work well in containers or in beds. What other plants have worked well for you through the winter? Please post photos and share your favorites!
