Poison Ivy seedlings – NOW!!!

DrPulte_Moderator | Posted in Southeast Gardening on

Poison ivy can be a persistent itchy problem in the gardens of the Southeastern United States, but with the right approach, it can be effectively controlled.

Right now where I garden seedlings are popping up everywhere! Seeds often arrive from birds in your garden.

Get control before they vines get established! Begin by wearing protective clothing to avoid skin contact. Remove small plants by pulling them out, roots and all, ideally after rain when the soil is soft. For larger infestations, herbicide can be effective -be cautious with herbicides near desirable plants and follow all directions.

Have you seen seedlings this time of year in your garden?
