My monstera is growing too large for my home, and I know I need to cut it back but I was hoping to start some new plants from its cuttings. Any tips for successfully propagating monstera?

I too have one of these magnificent monsters. It can be tricky as you will have to find a leaf with a root node emerging at its base. Using a clean tool, cut below the root node. There are 2 methods for developing a healthy root system. One is the simple water method, placing the leaf in a vase of water with the root submerged and waiting for a root system to grow and then potting it up. With will take several weeks at a minimum. Another is using rooting hormone on a cut surface of the root node, placing this in rooting medium in a pot, bagging the whole thing to hold the moisture, venting on occasion, until roots develop. A lot of extra work. I always go the easy route, water in a vase. Good luck. I may try this on mine and see how it goes.
