A large genus of between 500 and 600 species of annual and perennial sedges, mostly from wet tropical and subtropical habitats. Some may be grown in containers or in a water garden.

CareOutdoors, most Cyperus need full sun to part shade and moist to wet soil. Indoors, grow in bright light and high humidity. Stand container in a tray of water.
