Goodyera is a genus of about 25 to 40 species of terrestrial orchids. Most of them are evergreen. Unlike many orchids, which are prized for their blooms, Goodyera species are grown mainly for their interesting veined foliage. Small, rather insignificant flowers bloom on spikes, mainly in summer. Grow in a woodland garden or in a cool greenhouse.
