The genus Marrubium encompasses about 40 species of perennials from the Mediterranean region and Asia. They have the square stems of other plants in this family and wooly or hairy, sometimes malodorous leaves. During the summer, tubular 2-lipped flowers bloom in whorls along the stems. Some species are used medicinally. Grow in a mixed border or large rock garden.
