Makinoi’s holly fern

This evergreen terrestial fern has a somewhat formal look due to its satiny olive-green fronds and neat, arching habit.

CareFertile, humusy, well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Remove dead fronds as needed before new ones unfurl.

PropagationDivide in spring. Sow spores at 59° to 61°F when ripe. Detach fronds with bulbils in fall.
