   This is lovely and so noble a garden! I love the view of the Hudson River... I used to live in Westchester, and applaud the revival of its history. Wonderful of you to share your time and gifts as a docent. Thank you.

   I not only enjoyed seeing the pictures you selected, Batya, but following the link to read about the history of this garden. Mr. Untermyer and his wife certainly gave a lot back in service to their fellow man and, also, along the way, indulged in their passion for creating a beautiful garden. I am very curious about what creates the breathtaking wall of green over the end of the waterway in the 4th picture down. Are they weeping beeches which was mentioned in some of the website copy as being part of the walled garden?

   I am one of the gardeners at Untermyer. As someone who works in the gardens, i get to appreciate the beeches for their beauty AND their wonderful cool shade on hot days :)

   You are one lucky person, Batya, to be a docent at such a lovely garden. That wall of weeping trees ( Beech?) at the end of the pool is impressive. Thanks for sharing this and now another one goes on the long list of 'must see gardens'.
